Job Description

The LTC Pharmacy Billing Specialist plays a critical role in the financial operations of our pharmacy, specializing in insurance billing and Skilled Care activities. This position works with pharmacists and data entry technicians to resolve complex billing claims and ensure Long Term Care Facilities are billed correctly.

Our hours are:
Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM
  • 6:00 PM, Saturday shifts are occasional from 9:00 AM
  • 1:00 PM, Sunday shifts are occasional from 2:00 PM

Responsibilities:
Accurately, independently, and efficiently input and process insurance claims Submit prescriptions for third-party billing and troubleshoot independently, using others as resources when necessary Manage and submit Prior Authorizations Handle Skilled Nursing Medicare Part A billing Manage accounts receivable, enter payments, and send them to collections when appropriate Correct statements including rebilling, voiding, credits, and reprinting statements Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with all HIPAA standards Work with other staff to assist in training on correct insurance/Medicare billing procedures Proactively communicate with patients, prescribers, and third parties to prevent and resolve billing issues Maintain accurate, complete patient medication records and billing documentation Provide excellent customer service while resolving billing inquiries
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED (required) Proof of Pharmacy Technician Registration required by State of WI (license not required) 1 year of pharmacy experience or technician training preferred 1 year of insurance prescription billing experience preferred Previous experience in a Long-Term Care pharmacy preferred Experience with QS1 and Docutrack software preferred

Work Environment:
Fast-paced pharmacy environment with access to computer, software programs, basic office supplies, telephone, and a friendly, knowledgeable work environment. Must maintain confidentiality of customer medical records and follow all pharmacy laws and employee standards of conduct.
