Job Summary We are fast-paced, growing logistics and transportation company looking for an experienced Collections Manager to take ownership of our accounts receivable and collections process. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Collections Manager specializing in Logistics and Transportation to lead our debt recovery efforts within the logistics sector. This role involves managing collections accounts, negotiating with clients, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and maintaining excellent customer service standards. As a Collections Manager, you will play a vital role in safeguarding company assets while fostering positive client relationships through effective communication and negotiation. Duties Oversee the management of collections accounts related to logistics and transportation services, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding debts. Conduct debt collection negotiations via phone, email, and in person, applying industry best practices and consumer protection laws to maximize recoveries. Analyze accounts receivable data using Excel and accounting software to identify delinquent accounts and develop strategic collection plans. Reconcile accounts by reviewing debits & credits, performing account analysis, and ensuring accurate account reconciliation in compliance with financial concepts. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information while adhering to industry regulations and compliance standards. Communicate professionally with clients to resolve disputes, clarify account details, and negotiate repayment terms effectively. Utilize telemarketing techniques to follow up on overdue accounts and enhance collection success rates while maintaining excellent phone etiquette. Ensure all collection activities comply with relevant financial regulatory standards and consumer protection laws. Prepare detailed reports on collection activities, account statuses, and progress for senior management review. Handle accounts payable processes related to transportation expenses when necessary, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Experience Proven experience in medical collections or accounts receivable management within the logistics or transportation industry preferred. Strong background in accounting and finance concepts, including debits & credits, account analysis, and account reconciliation. Demonstrated success in debt collection negotiation with a focus on customer service and conflict resolution. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel data analysis tools for reporting and decision-making purposes. Familiarity with financial software applications used for account management and collections tracking. Knowledge of consumer protection laws, financial regulations governing transportation finance, and industry-specific compliance standards. Excellent phone etiquette combined with effective telemarketing skills for client communication efforts. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high ethical standards in all activities. Strong mathematical skills for accurate account analysis, data entry speed (typing), and understanding complex financial concepts.
