Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Director of Credit, Accounts Receivable & Collections is responsible for leading enterprise-wide credit, collections, and accounts receivable operations while driving strategic initiatives that optimize cash flow, mitigate financial risk, and improve overall order-to-cash performance. This role oversees receivables portfolios, develops credit and collections strategies, establishes operational controls, and partners with executive leadership to support organizational growth and financial objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute enterprise credit policies, procedures, and risk management strategies. Oversee commercial credit decisions, customer creditworthiness assessments, and credit limit approvals. Direct all accounts receivable and collections operations to maximize cash flow and minimize aged receivables. Establish collection strategies, performance standards, service level agreements, and recovery initiatives. Monitor aging performance, DSO, collection effectiveness, and cash application metrics. Develop and implement corrective action plans to improve portfolio performance and reduce bad debt exposure. Must have experience with Sage, ERP systems, Excel (proficient), and BI reporting.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. Advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
Experience:
10+ years of leadership experience in Credit, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Order-to-Cash operations. Experience managing receivables portfolios. Must have experience leading teams that include both U.S.-based and international employees. Proven experience leading enterprise credit risk management programs. Demonstrated success managing high-performing teams in a shared services or complex multi-location environment. Strong background in financial analysis, forecasting, and executive-level reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and organizational integration activities. Experience with financial reporting tools. Experience within telecommunications or large-scale construction companies
