In this role, you will lead a team of collections specialists, evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing clients, and implement strategies to reduce bad debt and minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO). The ideal candidate balances strong financial acumen and strict regulatory compliance with excellent negotiation and people-management skills.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and evaluate the daily performance of the credit and collections team to ensure productivity goals are met.
Credit Risk Assessment:
Establish and maintain credit policy guidelines, review high-value credit applications, and approve or deny credit lines based on risk analysis.
Collections Strategy:
Develop and optimize collection workflows, escalating complex or delinquent accounts to legal or third-party agencies when necessary.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare regular updates on aging accounts receivable (AR), DSO trends, bad debt reserves, and cash collection forecasts for senior leadership.
Dispute Resolution:
Partner with sales and customer service teams to investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or customer complaints that delay payment.
Compliance Management:
Ensure all collection activities strictly adhere to local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., FDCPA and FCRA).
Required Qualifications & Skills Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of progressive experience in credit and collections, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in ADDS or E3 software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
Communication:
Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and verbal/written communication skills.
Analytical Thinking:
Strong problem-solving abilities to dissect aging reports and identify systemic billing or collection issues. Preferred Qualifications Professional certification such as Certified Credit Executive (CCE) or Certified Credit and Risk Analyst (CCRA) from the NACM. Experience with B2B and B2C environments.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
