A Collections Manager manages staff that record and process collections at a bank or financial services company. Ensures that checks presented to a bank clear and the amount is debited to the bank and credited to a customer account. Manages collection accounts for a bank, creditor loan company or collections agency. Tracks the amounts owed by a customer that has fallen behind on bill payments and negotiates re-payment.

Job Description

This position will be responsible for negotiating payment arrangements with businesses and business owners on third party accounts, meeting monthly goals, and demonstrating strong communication skills, principally by phone. Debt Collectors must be incentive-driven, outgoing, and reliable, have the ability to make good judgment decisions, and must enjoy working in a high-volume call center. This position will pay $22-24 per hour based on experience with additional commission based on performance. Compensation will increase year over year. There is no cap to the amount of commission you can earn. We are located near Greenway Plaza. Key Responsibilities Communicating with merchants via outgoing and incoming calls, emails, and letter correspondence Full responsibility for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts in a fast-paced, goal-oriented collection agency Locating and contacting merchants via skip-tracing Negotiate, administer, and track payment plans and settlement on your accounts Essential Functions Weekly reporting to direct supervisor Daily phone calls & emails to delinquent customers Provide excellent & considerate customer service Meet defined department goals and activity metrics Manage and track a large number of deadlines and scheduled tasks Required Skills 2+ years commercial debt collection experience Knowledge of collections procedures Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code liens Knowledge of legal collection process including garnishment and executions Proficient in Microsoft Office Word Strong attention to detail, goal oriented Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities Poster is a full-service commercial collection firm based in Houston, Texas.
