Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants. This appointment is an active, hands-on position involving the care and management of floral material from the Archaeological Collections of the Anthropology Division and the Lubbock Lake Landmark. The Collections Research Aide is expected to be knowledgeable in collections management, the ethics, legal issues, and best practices in governing anthropological collections, and understand the importance of provenience and provenance. The Collections Research Aide reports to the Lubbock Lake Landmark Associate Collections Manager. The major focus of this position is the installation of floral remains in the collection, including any problem solving required to facilitate this process.
