Full Job Description Job Summary:
This is a position functioning as a Release of Information (ROI) Specialist, performing the ROI functions in response to requests for patient health information. Requests for information will be initially reviewed for validity by the ROI Specialist, who will then respond to each by providing the requested patient information.Location:
Rush Hospital on-site Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Key Responsibilities Verify the validity of medical record requests and accompanying paperwork. Data entry into hospital EMR system Assist with call center phone calls Use hospital or provider systems to locate appropriate patient details. Works within scope of position and direction; willingly accepts all assignments.Qualifications Required:
Experience with Epic's ROI module Highschool graduate Knowledge of medical terminology Strong Communication Skills Proficient and Accurate data entry skillsPreferred:
Prior Release of Information (ROI) or medical office experience Knowledge of HIPAA Skills and Competencies Display a courteous and professional manner through interaction, appearance, attitude, and with written and oral communication the public Team-oriented with a positive attitude Strong organizational skills Effective time management skills with multi-tasking abilities Ability to work well under pressure Meticulous attention to detail Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, unpredictable (at times) environment Provide excellent customer service with: demonstrated compassion, ability to assess situations & identify concerns and give timely follow up Ability to protect & maintain the confidentiality of patient's medical records and patient information Handle patient information with discretion and integrity Fluent data entry skillsJob Type:
