Job Description

Data Entry Clerk | St. Louis, Missouri Field notes, sample details and site records only become useful when the information is complete and easy to retrieve. This St. Louis Data Entry Clerk role turns incoming project documents into dependable digital records that teams can use for reporting, scheduling and follow-up. Where the information comes from Records may arrive from field staff, project coordinators, vendors or approved forms. Some are digital and some require scanning. You will work from defined fields and naming rules, so the focus is careful entry and verification rather than interpreting scientific results. Daily batches vary in size, and priorities are set according to active project deadlines. Checks before a record is complete Match project numbers, dates and locations to the source document. Enter information into spreadsheets, databases and project trackers. Identify blank fields, duplicates or obvious inconsistencies and send them back for review. Save files under the correct project and apply the approved naming format. Maintain simple logs showing what has been entered, corrected or requested. Protect confidential project and customer information. The skills behind accurate work A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous data entry, records, inventory, administrative or document-processing experience is preferred, though practical transferable experience will be considered. You should type accurately, follow written procedures and use basic spreadsheet features. Environmental experience is not required; the relevant terms and record types will be taught. Speed matters after accuracy is established, not before. Your first month Training starts with document handling, file structure and a small group of record types. Work is checked regularly and feedback is specific. As accuracy becomes consistent, you will process a wider range of records and learn how the information supports St. Louis-area projects. Schedule, pay and development $25-$27 per hour based on relevant experience. The position is full-time and on-site in St. Louis, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The recommended benefits package includes paid training, health plan options, paid time off, paid holidays and retirement-plan access for eligible employees.
