Job Title:
Customer Service and Data Entry Specialist Job Description This role provides front-line support to customers by managing incoming and outgoing product transactions, entering data into the company database, and handling payments. You will serve as a key point of contact for customers, assisting with scrap purchases and sales, supporting new steel sales, and resolving questions or issues over the phone and in person. Responsibilities Greet and assist incoming customers with products coming into or leaving the facility, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience. Accurately enter all buying and selling transactions of scrap materials into the company database in a timely manner. Meet with customers to discuss new steel sales, providing information and support as needed. Process customer payouts accurately and securely in accordance with company procedures. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer questions, concerns, and issues with professionalism and clarity. Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate records and consistent customer service across all transactions. Walk between the office and yard as needed to verify products, support customer needs, and ensure transaction accuracy. Essential Skills At least 1 year of customer service experience that includes data entry responsibilities. Proficiency in data entry with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone. Clerical skills, including handling basic office tasks and documentation. Basic computer literacy and ability to work within a company database. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with steel or metal products is a significant plus. Familiarity with scrap buying or selling processes is beneficial. Ability to work comfortably in both office and yard environments. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple customer interactions. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is primarily based in an office environment, where you will perform data entry, clerical tasks, and handle customer calls. You will also walk out to the yard as needed to support customer transactions and verify products, so you should be comfortable moving between indoor office space and an outdoor yard setting. Standard office equipment and computer systems are used to manage the company database and customer records. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
