Onsite; possibility of remote work up to 2 days per week after successful training Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk / Business Administrator 1 to support administrative, authorization, and billing-related operations. This position involves high-volume data entry, document verification, Excel-based cost analysis, and coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn and apply complex program rules and authorization procedures. This is primarily a data entry position with some administrative and analytical responsibilities.
The manager is seeking candidates who can complete the onboarding process quickly and start as soon as possible. Key Responsibilities Enter and maintain information in designated authorization and billing systems. Review Excel documents containing projected service costs for accuracy and completeness. Perform quality checks and reject documents that contain errors or require corrections. Track and follow up on documents returned for correction or unable to be enrolled at the time of entry. Translate projected cost information from Excel into the appropriate sections of the data entry system. Communicate effectively with Service Coordinators regarding questions, corrections, and authorization requirements. Coordinate with appropriate personnel when Prior Authorization of services is required. Process a high volume of Redeterminations and Revisions using a shared team email account. Maintain accurate data entry records, logs, and documentation. Use county database software to enter county-funded authorizations and retrieve client, provider, and other relevant information. Communicate with appropriate representatives regarding overrides, billing issues, and other matters requiring assistance. Apply knowledge of waiver rules, authorization procedures, and billing requirements. Perform proofreading, data verification, error correction, and other clerical tasks associated with data processing. Work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to accurately enter, review, and maintain information in computer systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and correct errors. Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to read, copy, and record figures accurately. Ability to manage multiple tasks and retain detailed information. Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently. Ability to complete repetitive data entry and clerical tasks for extended periods. Ability to pass required pre-employment background checks and drug testing. Preferred Qualifications One year of experience or knowledge of waiver authorization and billing systems. Familiarity with Individual Options, Level One, and Self Waivers. Experience with authorization processing, billing, or administrative data entry. Knowledge of county database software used to manage waiver services. Experience working with government, healthcare, social services, or other regulated data. Onboarding and Start Date The hiring manager is seeking candidates who can move through the onboarding process quickly.
