Job Overview Import & Export Data Entry Clerk Position Summary SKG Marketing is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Import & Export Data Entry Clerk to support our international shipping and logistics operations. This position is responsible for accurately entering and maintaining import and export information, preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and ensuring records are complete and up to date. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with large amounts of data, and familiar with basic import/export, freight, customs, and shipping terminology. Key Responsibilities Enter and maintain import and export shipment information in company databases and transportation/logistics systems. Prepare, review, and process shipping and customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates, and related paperwork. Track incoming and outgoing shipments and update records with current shipment status. Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, vendors, customers, and internal departments as needed. Assist with customs documentation and ensure required information is available for clearance. Maintain organized electronic and physical records of import/export transactions. Review documents for missing or inconsistent information and communicate discrepancies to the appropriate parties. Enter and update purchase orders, shipment details, tracking numbers, and related logistics data. Assist with resolving shipment documentation issues and data discrepancies. Follow company procedures and applicable import/export and recordkeeping requirements. Protect confidential business and customer information. Perform other administrative and logistics support duties as assigned. Inventory management experience. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in data entry, logistics, shipping, warehousing, transportation, or import/export is preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify discrepancies and follow through to resolution. Basic understanding of import/export documentation and terminology is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus. Valid Texas driver license. Preferred Experience 2 years of experience in data entry, logistics, freight forwarding, customs, or international shipping and inventory management Experience working with commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, or customs documentation. Familiarity with international shipping processes and customs requirements. Physical & Work Requirements Primarily an office/administrative position. Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to communicate effectively by phone, email, and in person. Ability to maintain accuracy while working under time-sensitive conditions.
