Job Description

The Human Services Division of the Health & Human Services Department has two current vacancies for the position of Senior Eligibility Specialist in the South Placer and North Lake Tahoe area. This position assists in the administration of the Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKs, and General Relief programs. The responsibilities of this position include reviewing casework for quality assurance, preparing reports, and providing feedback to ensure casework is completed in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner. Duties may include supporting the training of staff who are transitioning from induction training to more independent casework. The Senior position assists supervisors in evaluating staff performance and provides first-line support to staff, applying expertise in county processes and program regulations while also handling escalated and confidential cases. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and has demonstrated peer leadership abilities. The eligible list established as a result of this recruitment may be used to fill vacancies as they arise within other divisions and teams of the Health & Human Services department, subject to position-specific requirements. Other opportunities within the department may include Children's System of Care (CSOC), Veteran's Services, and Housing.
