Job Description

Administrative Assistant - Eligibility Verification Job Summary We are seeking a temporary Administrative Assistant to support eligibility verification for a health program. This position will answer phone calls and emails from approved contracted partners who are requesting verification of client eligibility for services. The Administrative Assistant will review requests, verify that the requester is authorized to receive the information, access the case management system, and provide eligibility status and applicable start/end dates in a timely and professional manner. This position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to work with sensitive information, including Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and health information protected under HIPAA.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00

Equipment Provided:
Computer, telephone, and workstation Duties Answer telephone calls and respond to email requests from approved contracted partners. Verify that the requester is authorized to obtain eligibility information. Obtain client information needed to complete eligibility verification. Access and navigate the case management system after training. Provide eligibility status and applicable start/end dates to authorized requesters. Respond to requests in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Communicate with case management staff and leadership to resolve questions or clarify information. Maintain confidentiality when working with PII and HIPAA-protected health information. Follow department procedures for handling sensitive information. Perform other administrative or program support duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate's degree required. Minimum of six months of related experience required. Previous administrative, customer service, call center, eligibility verification, healthcare office, case management support, or data entry experience preferred. Strong phone and email communication skills. Pleasant and professional demeanor when assisting vendors and internal staff. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to learn and navigate computer systems after training. Ability to follow procedures and verify information before releasing eligibility details. Ability to work independently and manage requests in a timely manner. Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Must be able to pass all required background screening, drug screening, and onboarding requirements. Work Environment Office-based position in a professional department setting. Work will be performed using a computer, telephone, and department workstation. Position involves regular phone and email communication. Business casual attire required.
