Job Description
You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary Our client is seeking a skilled Claims Associate to manage and adjudicate various insurance claims types including Accident Insurance, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and more. This position requires adherence to established policies and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate claim processing, while maintaining a high standard of customer service. Key Responsibilities Adjudicate claims in accordance with established policies and procedures. Consistently adhere to documented workflow guidelines. Calculate benefits based on claim forms, medical information, and regulatory guidelines. Obtain complete and accurate information to verify claim eligibility and resolve issues. Maintain department production, quality, and service level standards. Provide professional customer service via telephone and in writing. Investigate, research, and verify information to confirm eligibility and ensure adequate information is obtained. Maintain required levels of confidentiality and accurate documentation of activities. Recommend changes to management to avoid recurring customer inquiries. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or 4 years of equivalent business-related work experience. PC proficiency in MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook. Excellent customer service skills and experience. Skills Technical skills in MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook. Strong communication and customer service skills. Aptitude for math and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of state regulations, statutes, and ERISA. Additional Requirements In person Monday-Friday, standard shift likely 8am-4:30pm. Hours may vary during training to align with the manager's needs. Benefits Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances). If you meet eligibility requirements and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s)). 401k (Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1).
