Job Description

Eligibility Specialist-Child Care Assistance Program A community service organization located in Rockford is looking for an Eligibility Specialist to administer the Child Care Assistance Program on behalf of the IL Dept of Human Services. The Eligibility Specialist will determine family eligibility for childcare reimbursement. Some of the duties include case document processing, case updates, termination of ineligible cases, in-person and phone customer service, and answering and responding to phone calls and inquiries. This is a Furst-to-Hire opportunity.
Hours:
8:30am-5pm
Monday-Friday Pay:
$17.50/hour
Eligibility Specialist Responsibilities:
Performing data entry functions related to assigned caseload Maintaining accurate and complete records on all cases Connecting families to appropriate programs for additional support Maintaining compliance with processing paperwork, phone calls, emails and reports that are required to be submitted Maintaining confidentiality of program, client, and provider information Participation in staff meetings Participation in continuing education activities Responding with sensitivity to families' socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic and religious backgrounds, individual needs and capabilities
Eligibility Specialist Requirements:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent education and/or experience in social work, customer service, data entry, or related field Demonstrated proficiency with a computer and various software packages Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work with a team as well as independently Ability to lift 30 pounds, sit, stand, bend, and twist Ability to type at least 30 words per minute Current Illinois driver's license and valid vehicle insurance Willing to complete and maintain required certifications on an annual basis This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of area families.
