Overview At Freedom Behavioral Health Solutions, our mission is to make mental health care accessible and transformative for everyone. We are dedicated to providing innovative treatments and removing barriers to care, empowering you to "Free Your Mind" and make the most of every moment. Life is short; let's live it to the fullest! Position Overview Freedom Behavioral Health Solutions seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented Regional Insurance Specialist to oversee insurance-related processes across clinics in an assigned region. The Regional Insurance Specialist will serve as the primary liaison among Freedom Behavioral Health Solutions, our third-party billing partner, insurance payers, patients, and clinic staff. This position plays a critical role in ensuring insurance information is accurately verified and documented before patient services, resolving insurance-related issues that may affect patient care, billing, or reimbursement, and promoting consistent insurance verification processes across all clinics in the region. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams. Key Responsibilities Insurance Verification Oversight Oversee insurance verification processes for clinics within the assigned region. Ensure patient eligibility, benefits, coverage, and applicable insurance requirements are accurately verified and documented. Monitor verification workflows to ensure insurance information is completed prior to patient appointments whenever possible. Serve as a resource and subject-matter expert for clinic staff regarding insurance verification and payer requirements. Address verification errors or workflow gaps that could impact patient care, billing, or reimbursement. Billing Company Liaison Serve as the primary regional point of contact between FreedomBHS clinic operations and Freedom's billing company, Restorative Revenue Solutions, for day-to-day insurance matters. Communicate and troubleshoot discrepancies involving eligibility, benefits, coverage, payer information, patient responsibility, and other insurance-related issues. Coordinate with clinic staff and the billing company to ensure outstanding insurance issues are followed through resolution. Escalate significant or systemic reimbursement concerns to FreedomBHS leadership. Help establish clear accountability between clinic-level responsibilities and billing-company responsibilities. Patient Insurance Support Assist clinic staff with complex patient insurance questions or concerns. Work directly with patients when appropriate to clarify insurance coverage, benefits, eligibility, or information needed to resolve insurance issues. Communicate insurance information clearly and professionally while avoiding guarantees regarding payer reimbursement. Help prevent insurance-related issues from unnecessarily delaying or disrupting patient care. Regional Oversight & Process Improvement Develop and maintain consistent insurance verification procedures and expectations across clinics within the assigned region. Identify trends contributing to insurance-related denials, delayed billing, reimbursement issues, or patient confusion. Partner with clinic leadership and the billing company to improve front-end processes that support accurate billing and clean claims. Assist with the implementation of insurance verification processes at new FreedomBHS locations. Provide training and ongoing support to clinic staff regarding insurance verification procedures and payer-specific requirements. Maintain awareness of major payer requirements and changes affecting clinics within the region. Communication & Accountability Maintain regular communication with clinic leadership and the billing company regarding significant or unresolved insurance issues. Provide leadership with visibility into insurance trends, problem areas, and issues requiring additional attention. Maintain accurate and appropriate documentation of insurance-related activity. Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and FreedomBHS policies. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with health insurance verification, patient access, or healthcare administration. Strong understanding of insurance eligibility, benefits, copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and payer requirements. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with patients, insurance companies, billing personnel, clinic staff, and leadership. Ability to independently investigate problems and follow issues through resolution. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Preferred 2+ years of healthcare insurance verification, patient access, medical billing, or revenue-cycle experience. Behavioral health or psychiatric healthcare experience. Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE/TriWest, or other government payers. Experience working across multiple clinic locations.
