Job Description

We are looking for a highly organized and reliable professional to join us as a Paratransit Eligibility Assistant . This part-time administrative role is essential to the ADA paratransit eligibility workflow, focusing on managing applications, coordinating assessments, safeguarding sensitive records, and delivering high-quality support to our riders and applicants.

$18.00 per hour

20 to 30 hours weekly, Monday through Friday during standard business hours

Core Responsibilities:
Manage the intake, verification, and logging of ADA paratransit applications and final determinations to ensure process efficiency. Organize and book eligibility evaluations conducted via phone, in-person meetings, or paper documentation. Serve as a primary point of contact for applicants and riders seeking information on their status, program rules, or eligibility results. Draft and manage official correspondence, such as recertification notices and eligibility letters, to keep customers informed. Distribute helpful resources to applicants, including details on transportation alternatives, program guidelines, and the appeals process. Ensure all sensitive documentation and case records are handled with strict adherence to HIPAA privacy standards. Collaborate with dispatch and scheduling teams to facilitate the smooth activation of services for newly eligible riders. Support the Compliance Manager and Paratransit Coordinator with various administrative duties and departmental projects. Complete additional tasks as required by the team.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Completion of a High School Diploma or GED. Prior background in clerical, customer service, or administrative support roles is preferred. Demonstrate strong interpersonal abilities to foster respectful and effective communication with individuals of all backgrounds and ability levels. Exhibit exceptional organizational habits and a sharp eye for detail. Possess the capacity to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality. Competence in Microsoft Office applications, with bonus consideration for those familiar with case management or eligibility software. Show the ability to handle shifting priorities and meet strict deadlines within a busy office setting. Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is required. Maintain a professional attitude and consistent, reliable attendance.
