Job Description
The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana. Six years of social services experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR An advanced degree plus two years of social services experience.EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. - Supervises a team of Medicaid Eligibility Analysts responsible for determining eligibility across a wide range of Medicaid programs.
- Oversees eligibility determinations for diverse populations, including families, children, pregnant women, elderly, and individuals with disabilities.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of applications for programs such as Long Term Care, Medicaid Purchase Plan, and Medicare Savings Programs.
- Provides guidance and oversight to staff on complex eligibility policies, procedures, and case scenarios.
- Monitors workload distribution and productivity to ensure efficient program operations and timely service delivery.
- Reviews and validates eligibility decisions to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Supports staff development through training, coaching, and performance management to maintain high-quality eligibility determinations.
