Job Description
Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Dental Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date, with data entry into our software. The candidate will also prepare patients charts for upcoming appointments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental terminology, understanding of benefits, and the ability to navigate various insurance systems. You will play a crucial role in facilitating smooth operations within our dental office, contributing to the overall patient experience. Responsibilities Conduct thorough insurance verification for patients prior to their appointments. Review and interpret insurance policies, including in and out of network plans. Utilize knowledge of CDT-10 coding to ensure accurate billing and coding practices. Maintain and update records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their insurance coverage and any necessary documentation. Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve any discrepancies related to insurance claims. Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and procedures that may affect verification processes. Qualifications Proficiency in dental terminology and understanding of managed care systems. Experience with insurance verification processes is required. Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and its application in dental benefits. Previous experience working in a dental office setting is preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate records. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
