AAGA Administrative Office Position Summary The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits Confirm coverage for procedures and services Obtain prior authorizations when required Update insurance information in EMR systems Communicate coverage details to staff and patients Monitor authorization status and follow-up requirements Required Qualifications High school diploma required Insurance verification experience preferred Healthcare experience preferred Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Understanding of insurance plans and benefits Strong attention to detail Communication skills Organizational ability Problem-solving skills Physical Requirements Sedentary office work Computer-based tasks Work Environment Administrative revenue cycle environment supporting specialty gastroenterology services.
