Responsibilities may include:

Manage Medicaid applications from initial information gathering through submission and approval Assist clients and family members with gathering required financial, personal, and supporting documentation Review applications and documentation for completeness and accuracy Prepare and submit Medicaid applications and supporting materials Track application status, deadlines, outstanding documentation, and follow-up requirements Communicate with Medicaid caseworkers and other agencies regarding pending applications Respond to requests for additional information and help resolve application issues Assist with Medicaid renewals and recertifications Maintain organized and accurate client files and documentation Keep attorneys and clients informed regarding application status and next steps Provide patient, compassionate assistance to families who may be navigating long-term-care decisions for the first time Support the Elder Law team with other Medicaid and long-term-care matters as needed What We're Looking For We are particularly interested in candidates who have hands-on experience completing Medicaid applications and understand the documentation and follow-up required to successfully move an application through the process. Ideal experience may come from an: Elder Law firm Skilled nursing or long-term-care facility Assisted living organization Medicaid or benefits agency Department of Social Services Hospital or healthcare organization Senior-care or long-term-care organization Qualifications include: Prior experience working with Medicaid applications, eligibility, enrollment, or long-term-care Medicaid strongly preferred Strong understanding of the documentation required for Medicaid eligibility Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple applications, deadlines, and follow-up items simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working directly with elderly clients and their family members Compassionate and patient when working with people facing difficult or unfamiliar circumstances Ability to handle sensitive personal and financial information with discretion Strong follow-through and a willingness to take ownership of cases Comfortable working collaboratively in a small professional office About McDonald Law Firm McDonald Law Firm helps Maryland families plan for the future and navigate important life transitions.
