An Eligibility Specialist provides assistance and information for people who apply for a government benefits program or health care program. Answers questions, assists with an application process, and reviews applications and relevant background information to determine eligibility. May assist eligible applicants with enrolling in a program.

The Insurance & Community Specialist works with clients to address insurance needs, coordinate referrals, and connect them with appropriate programs and community partners while maintaining accurate records and monitoring insurance coverage, needs, and lapses. Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
Job Duties:
Assist clients with insurance applications, renewals, and related documentation. Coordinate insurance reinstatements following coverage lapses. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits. Explain insurance options and coverage. Help clients resolve insurance issues. Work with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans. Develop a community network of services and programs and assist client with scheduling external appointments and referrals with community navigators/agencies. Provide outreach to community partners. Manage and track program databases to determine insurance coverage, needs, and lapses.
Requirements:
Minimum of two years of experience working with health insurance and billing. Ability to work independently. Ability to work with diverse populations including age, gender, ethnicity, and cultural components of all WC clients. Skilled in planning, problem solving, and decision-making. Must be highly organized and creative with an ability to locate resources for clients as needed. Exceptional organization and communication skills (written and oral). Must possess a valid driver's license and a willingness to travel within our seven counties.
