Job Description

HH-Hospice Central Intake - NC is currently seeking experienced Full-Time Location Authorization Specialist for our Home Health team in West Jefferson (Ashe County), NC. This person will be responsible for payer verification and requesting authorizations for services from Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies in a timely and accurate manner. Verifies insurance for all patient payers. Contacts insurance companies and obtains authorization for home health services in a timely and accurate manner for payers requiring authorization. Runs the authorization expiration report on a daily basis. Assist the billing department with researching denials. Qualifications and Skills High School Diploma or GED required. 1-2 years of customer service/medical billing/collections experience required. Home health experience preferred. Thorough and working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial billing regulations and requirements. Experience with the technical aspects of electronic medical billing.
