Medication Pre-Authorization Specialist - Cascades East Clinic - FT DAYS

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred :

Knowledge of operations of fax, copy machine, and other small business machines; Bilingual and referral authorization, and Rx refill experience.

Medium physical/mental capabilities required. Must be able to work independently as well as with physicians, patients/family members and other co-workers. Must be able to prioritize work demands and organize time efficiently. Must be able to work with time constraints, high stress situations and perform multiple tasks. Excellent problem solving skills required. Strong organizational required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Identify and have knowledge of various medication assistance programs. Assist patients with paperwork by completing enrollment forms for various patient assistance programs. Receive and track patient assistance medications and re-order medications as required. Obtain pre-authorizations from insurance companies for medications prescribed and communicate with providers, insurance companies and pharmacies. Document in the EHR. Have knowledge of different insurance companies preferred medication lists. Receive and route telephone calls to appropriate staff when necessary. Maintain competency in all position responsibilities. Treat patients with respect and courtesy. Load copy/fax machine with printer paper; change toner and fix jams.

Pay:

$19.06 - $28.09 per hour
