A Home Health and Hospice Authorization Specialist obtain and manages insurance authorizations to support timely start and continuation of home health and hospice services. •This is a remote position located in Sandy, UT•
Responsibilities and Duties:
Obtain initial and ongoing authorizations for home health and hospice services Verify eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements via phone and payer portals Submit authorization requests accurately and within required timeframes Track authorization status and follow up on pending requests Review documentation for completeness prior to submission Communicate approvals, denials, and updates to intake and clinical teams Maintain accurate records in EMR systems and payer portals Promote a Friendly, Positive, and Excellence-Focused environment Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Competencies:
Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently and collaboratively
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma required; degree preferred 1+ year of authorization or healthcare administrative experience preferred Knowledge of Home Health/Hospice and insurance plans (Medicare/Medicaid/commercial) preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and move about Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Schedule:
Full-Time 8 Hour Shifts Monday - Friday
