Intake Associate Bilingual
  • Job #643 North Los Angeles County Regional Center Overview Description The Organization North Los Angeles County Regional Center "NLACRC" is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.
SUPERVISION
Receives supervision from Consumer Services Managers/Directors
THE POSITION AND JOB SUMMARY
The Intake Associate will provide excellent customer service by: receiving, and responding to calls, internet and faxed referrals and walk-ins for Lanterman services. Completing any follow-up with other agencies and DCFS as indicated/needed. Providing resource support and referral information to applicants and their families who may not qualify for intake services. Providing information and a brief overview of Lanterman act and categories of eligibility. As well as providing assistance on other tasks as needed by the Intake department and/or agency Gathering of initial information related to eligibility category of concern. Assist families with completing application for services when needed either over the phone or in person. Obtaining records and consents. Documenting case activity. Prepares cases for presentation to eligibility committee Employment Standards A Bachelor's degree in a human/social services is required and two years of related experience. Skills and Abilities Excellent customer service on the telephone and/or in person. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Accurate and rapid typing for input of data. Attention to detail. Ability to prioritize, respond to multiple tasks, requests, and processes and meet time-lines. Review and present information obtained in a concise manner. Utilize ear/microphone piece and enter initial data in the computer. Regular Salary:
$19.00
  • $20.
46 per hour, plus $69.24 per bi-weekly pay period for bilingual services. NLACRC is an equal opportunity employer.
