Job Description
DataStaff, Inc. is currently seeking a SSI Eligibility Specialist for a opportunity with one of our direct clients in Modesto, CA . This is a hybrid position
- 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Responsibilities:
Screen for and executes applications for federal disability benefits for children in custody of government social services agencies Maintains detailed records of all activities, both pending and completed Interacts will all relevant stakeholders to ensure dissemination of information to the appropriate entities Accepts and actively recruits referrals from all sources for SSI application and advocacy services. Works with client agency to minimize interplay between various child welfare funding streams Processes and submits SSI applications in the following categories: SSI, Title II, Reconsiderations, Continuing Disability Reviews, Redeterminations, and Administrative Law Judge Hearings. Reviews information from every available source to determine if the characteristics of referred children match SSI criteria. Makes agency and community presentations regarding the SSI advocacy program and maintains knowledge of current community resources. Produces regular status reports as requested Maintains time frames set by project management tasks are completed in accordance with project expectations. Ensures consistent application of all confidentiality laws and regulations pertinent to the foster care and federal disability programs. Reviews applications denied by SSA and gathers documentation to determine if a reconsideration appeal is appropriate. Submits SSI files and documentation in accordance with deadlines and goals established by management staff and the Social Security Administration. Attends Administrative Law Judge Hearings as scheduled by the Hearing office. Responds to requests from Human Services Agency and SSA timely. Performs case management and follow-up on applications pending a decision. Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university 2 years- Direct experience with government eligibility programs 1 year
- Caseload management experience 1 year
- Benefit eligibility experience Demonstrable and articulable knowledge of federal disability programs Excellent time management skills Ability to meet all standards established for this position Ability to use computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel and Outlook Ability to work with community groups and the public Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
