This position has the ability to work remotely up to 5 days per week but will be required to report to the Madison central office location at 201 E. Washington Avenue approximately two (2) times per month. This schedule may vary based on training or operational need. Position Summary As a Wisconsin Funeral and Cemetery Aids Collections Specialist-Senior, you will be responsible for researching, developing, operating, and improving the Wisconsin Funeral and Cemetery Aids Program.
Responsibilities will include:
participating in program planning and policy settings, along with the development of procedures. coordinating and processing of Wisconsin Funeral and Cemetery Aids Program applications, verification check lists, notice of decisions, and payments. Your case decisions involve difficult, complex, and sensitive choices for program participants. Salary Information The starting pay is between $31.00 and $33.50 per hour (approximately between $64,500 and $69,700 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Collections Specialist - Senior and is in pay schedule and range 07/03. Job Details All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. For positions that allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin or in bordering cities will not be allowed except in extremely limited circumstances due to the need to report to an office location in Wisconsin on short notice. Employees must have access to secure high-speed internet for remote work option. Mileage reimbursement to the employee's headquarter location is not provided. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following: Experience with case management, such as assessing and evaluating individual cases, establishing and maintaining detailed case files, documentation and notes on the cases. Experience communicating or providing difficult to understand information to non-technical audiences in-person, via telephone, or written inquiries and applications. Experience reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness. Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following: Experience using or interpreting the Wisconsin Funeral and Cemetery Aids Program and Wisconsin Statute § 49.785.
