Peer Recovery Specialist Description:
If you are an individual who has received or is currently receiving mental health and/or substance abuse services and has a desire to help others, we have a unique opportunity for you. This position will allow you to combine your personal recovery experience with skills to promote hope in others as they work to improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and strive to reach their full potential.
Applicant Criteria:
Personal Experience:
Must be a current or former recipient of mental health and/or substance abuse services and willing to self-disclose as such.
Certification:
Possess a current Tennessee State Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification or be eligible and willing to pursue certification with company-provided training within 6 months of hire.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Driver's License:
Valid driver's license for the state listed on your home address, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
Clean Record:
Clean criminal history.
Abuse Registry:
Clean Abuse Registry.
Core Competencies:
Proficiency in working with computers (Microsoft Office and databases). Active listening skills. Ability to facilitate and engage people in group settings. Team player. Comfortable around people. Ability to reach out and work with diverse groups, individuals, ideas, and opinions. Time management skills. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Open communicator. Excellent oral, written, and public presentation skills. Ability to work effectively and respectfully with mental health consumers.
