Salary Range:
$40,000 - $42,000. Final salary is based on Experience and Education levels. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A
Pre-Billing Specialist (Eligibility) This individual will be responsible for assigning medical insurance plans and performing eligibility verification checks on new patient accounts entering the billing system. They will resolve eligibility issues by contacting providers and patients to obtain updated information, and will submit and follow up on assigned prior authorizations. This role will spend the most time assigning medical insurance plans, verifying eligibility, resolving issues, and managing prior authorization submissions and follow-ups.
REQUIREMENTS
High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of two years of health insurance eligibility and prior authorization experience. Experience collaborating with patients, providers, and insurance plans to complete the pre-billing process. Experience researching and utilizing payor websites. Certification in Medical Billing and/or Coding or equivalent experience. Must demonstrate the ability to type 35 WPM with 90% or higher accuracy. • Please see the full job description at the end of the job ad.
