Job Description

The Admissions Specialist is responsible for greeting prospective students, providing and reviewing the required application forms for admission to CTC, and following up on requests for additional documentation and/or letters of acceptance. High school diploma or GED and eight years wage earning clerical experience or Associate's Degree and two years of wage earning clerical experience in a customer service position, preferably in the field of higher education. (transcripts must be uploaded for evaluation purposes). See above education/experience above. Knowledge of technical writing and conducting training of employees is beneficial. Must have excellent customer service skills, demonstrating a keen ability to understand and address the needs and concerns of clients with patience and empathy. Excellent English communication, both written and verbal, is essential to effectively convey information and resolve issues clearly and professionally. Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment is crucial for managing multiple inquiries and tasks without compromising quality or timeliness. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information is mandatory to ensure adherence to privacy regulations and to build trust with clients. Welcome prospective students to the Admissions Center and provide all required paperwork. Interpret residency regulations outlined by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and all policies and procedures concerning admissions established by the institution. Track and contract students regarding any missing documentation. Enter test scores with great attention to detail ensuring accuracy of the information. Process applications through the Student Admissions Module of the registration system. Generate letters of acceptance to students and reminder letters. Purge applications when aged out. Train users of the Student Admissions Module. Assist with web address changes to include downloading, data entry, and checking for residency changes. Become proficient in Ellucians Communications Management software to send correspondence to students. Perform other duties as assigned.
