General Description of Position Goals Under general supervision of the Superintendent, serves as a confidential executive assistant to the Superintendent; serves as a recording secretary to the Board of Education; performs confidential office duties; provides oral and written translations from English to Spanish; provides and coordinates information relating to District programs, policies, events, efforts and related District information in English and Spanish; and assumes and performs related duties and responsibilities as required. Examples of Duties:
1. Serves as an office manager responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Superintendent's office. 2. Assists administration, Board of Education, district employees and the general public for the purpose of disseminating information on schools, programs, services and employment positions with the district. 3. Coordinates and compiles the Board agenda. Serves as recording secretary at regular and special meetings of the Board of Trustees; Prepares the unadopted minutes of regular and special meetings of the Board of Trustees; Maintains the official minutes of the meetings of the Board of Trustees; Communicates with the Board of Education, executive level management, other district personnel, the community and media regarding activities, schedules, discrepancies and requests for the purpose of providing specialized and technical information concerning established policies, procedures and guidelines. 8. Assists Board Members, Superintendent, Cabinet and other district personnel with conference arrangements, meetings, and appointments with the purpose of meeting district goals, improving instructional programs and operational system or maximizing efficiency of the workforce. 9. Maintains and submits staff and Board Members with the appropriate forms required by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC). 10. Serves as a liaison to the Riverside County Registrar of Voters and Imperial County Registrar of Voters i.e. Board members elections/appointments, submitting Orders of Election, disseminating documents to the candidates, communicating with Registrar offices for candidate verifications. 11. Manages a variety of administrative and public contacts with tact and judgment reflecting the Superintendent's methods and policies.

Job Requirements/Qualifications Experience:
Five (5) years of experience translating documents from English to Spanish and providing simultaneous oral interpretation services. Combination of training and experience equivalent to five (5) years of progressively responsible clerical, administrative, secretarial, and/or technical experience.
Education:
High School graduation or the equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferable. Other Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or
Testing:
Valid California Driver License Valid Minimum Liability Car Insurance Fingerprint/criminal justice clearance Tuberculosis clearance Pass District Test Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three (3) Letters
  • Professional letters from current or former supervisors dated and signed within the past six (6) months) Proof of HS Graduation (High School Graduation/GED or Higher) Resume Requirements / Qualifications B.
