Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Take on a vital role supporting students with orthopedic impairments in a dynamic educational setting. This full-time, contract opportunity spans the academic year and offers the chance to make a measurable impact as an Orthopedic Impairment Assistant. You'll collaborate closely with a specialist, ensuring students can engage fully in their educational environment by assisting with mobility devices and monitoring equipment usage. The itinerant nature of this role adds variety to your workweek, as you travel to multiple sites and offer critical support to students and staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience working in schools as a paraprofessional or similar support role CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification required Assistive Technology and Mobility Device Training required CNA/Medical Training preferred Previous experience in California school settings preferred Bilingual in Spanish required to communicate effectively with students and families Strong administrative skills beneficial for supporting program documentation and coordination
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Orthopedic Impairment Specialist in monitoring students using walkers, wheelchairs, and other mobility devices Ensure equipment is used safely and assist with training students and staff in proper techniques Provide consistent support as an instructional assistant across different locations Maintain accurate documentation and participate in the implementation of individualized education plans Utilize strong communication skills to liaise between specialists, teachers, students, and families Enjoy the impact and fulfillment of helping students reach their full potential in a supportive, inclusive environment. This onsite position offers a structured schedule with the opportunity to work closely with a committed educational team from August 21, 2025, to June 4, 2026.
