Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity awaits an experienced Orthopedic Impairment Assistant for a contract position supporting students in an educational setting near Thermal, CA. In this full-time, onsite role, you'll work closely with an OI Specialist to enhance the academic experience for students utilizing mobility equipment. This is a unique chance to impact students' daily lives, ensuring they thrive in a safe, supportive environment while gaining valuable experience as part of an itinerant team.
What you bring:
Paraprofessional skills, especially in school settings Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification Training in Assistive Technology and Mobility Devices Bilingual fluency in Spanish Preference for candidates with CNA or medical background Experience working in California schools Administrative skills, such as documentation, scheduling, and effective communication Enthusiasm for collaboratively supporting students' growth and independence Your responsibilities: Assist the Orthopedic Impairment Specialist with daily support and instruction for students with mobility needs Monitor the safe usage of walkers, wheelchairs, and adaptive technology throughout the school day Help provide instruction and practice for students and staff on equipment use Maintain accurate records and contribute to the planning of individualized support Travel as needed between assignments as part of an itinerant role Why you'll love this position: Consistent, 40-hour work weeks within the school year calendar Opportunity to make a direct impact on students' lives and educational experiences Work in a collaborative, supportive environment with other dedicated professionals Make a meaningful difference as an Orthopedic Impairment Assistant.
