SOLA evacuated Afghanistan upon the Taliban's return in 2021, resuming operations in Rwanda where we continue our mission to provide our students with a rigorous education that promotes critical thinking, a sense of purpose, and respect for self and others. First in Afghanistan and now in Rwanda, SOLA is a place where Afghan girls grow to become compassionate, curious, confident women. SOLA's vision is for them to become members of the generation who will one day lead a peaceful and united Afghanistan. In March 2024, SOLA launched SOLAx, a WhatsApp-based education platform meticulously designed to deliver the Afghan curriculum, including ESL and other courses. SOLAx is accessible to every Afghan girl on Earth and available in the English, Dari, and Pashto languages. The Position SOLA is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and mission-driven Executive Assistant (EA) to the President . This role provides high-level administrative and operational support to the President, ensuring efficient day-to-day management of schedules, communications, and travel. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and able to manage competing priorities with discretion and professionalism. This position requires strong judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Candidates must reside in the Greater Boston area. Most work will be completed remotely, but some responsibilities require driving and physical presence in the Greater Boston area.Manager:

Full-Time Exempt. May require occasional work during evenings and weekends. Key Responsibilities Executive Support Manage and maintain the President's complex calendar, including scheduling internal and external meetings, calls, and events. Prioritize and manage incoming requests for the President's time, coordinating closely with the Chief of Staff. Reach out to meeting attendees, alerting them of the President's schedule changes or delays. Draft briefings for the President's upcoming meetings and engagements. Assist with special projects and initiatives led by the President and Chief of Staff. Communications Monitor, triage, and draft responses to emails as appropriate. Ensure timely responses and help maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. Travel & Logistics Arrange and coordinate domestic and international travel, including flights, hotels, ground transportation, visas, and itineraries for the President, SOLAx Lead and other team members. Prepare detailed travel briefings and schedules. Support logistics for retreats, speaking engagements, and Board Meetings. Arrange childcare and child travel on an occasional basis for the President during periods of travel. Administrative Operations Drive to pick up mail and checks at SOLA's organizational mailbox in Boston, MA. Deposit checks at the local bank branch. Pack and coordinate shipment of items from the US to Rwanda, working closely with the Development Team. Track, code and submit expense reports, receipts, and reimbursements for the President and SOLAx Lead. Maintain organized digital files, contact lists, and records. Streamline virtual office processes and improve administrative & executive office workflows. Qualifications Required 3 - 5+ years of experience supporting senior executives, preferably in a nonprofit, philanthropy, or mission-driven organization. Experience with tools such as Google Workspace Suite, Microsoft Office, Slack, Gemini, and similar platforms. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities, particularly with drafting emails to different audiences and drafting emails for an Executive. High level of discretion when handling confidential information. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license and comfort with driving in the Greater Boston area (ideally in your own vehicle). Support of SOLA's mission of educating Afghan girls. Preferred Experience supporting a CEO, President, Executive Director, or public figure. Familiarity with nonprofit operations.
