Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized File Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and providing administrative support within a medical office environment. This role requires proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) systems and strong clerical skills to facilitate efficient documentation and patient service. Duties Organize and maintain medical records, ensuring all documentation is filed accurately and promptly. Assist with the intake process by collecting necessary patient information and insurance verification. Provide administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing multi-line phone systems, and responding to patient inquiries with excellent phone etiquette. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure care plans are documented correctly in patient files. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Support medical billing processes by preparing necessary documentation for claims submission. Assist in the training of new staff on filing procedures and office management practices. Requirements Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and 10 key typing capabilities. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication services. Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction; previous experience as a medical receptionist or front desk personnel is a plus. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
