Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a File Clerk. As a File Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining and organizing medical records in a medical office setting. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth and development within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Sort and file medical records, correspondence, and other documents in accordance with our established filing system
- Retrieve files as requested by healthcare professionals and staff
- Prepare charts for the next days' appointments
- Ensure accuracy of all filed documents
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Initiate medical and prescription authorizations for the doctor
- Assist with general administrative duties such as answering phone calls when the office is short-staffed.
Skills:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or familiarity with medical terminology is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate filing and record-keeping
- Proficient in internet-based computer skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong time management skills to ensure patient access to care and prescriptions This is a part-time position with competitive pay and 20 hours PTO, which exceeds the State minimum ESTA policy.
