Job Summary The printer operator's responsibilities include changing date codes and cleaning cross bars within the first 1 hour of your shift, and continuous cleaning of crossbars as needed throughout shift. Clean all drip trays for their line. Each operator is also responsible for changing out all the mist collector hoses for inkers and varnish weekly, each operator is responsible for maintaining an orderly work area cleaned, cleared of debris and mopped. To ensure the production of safe, quality cans. The operator is required to support the lead during mechanical breakdowns and changeovers, as well as training new hires and existing printer operators. Additionally, the printer operator must fill in for any other operator in their absence or when the lead or floater is occupied with operational duties on another line. This is a working position that requires the operator to be present on the lines throughout their shift to help optimize overall equipment efficiency. Key Responsibilities Maintain housekeeping. Ensure all paperwork is filled out and turned in daily. Maintain PM documentation, weekly and daily checks. Record and report defect types and quantities using provided forms 5 WHY's Follow standard operating procedures and meet all quality standards. Keep the printer area clean, organized, and free from safety hazards. Communicate with PM&R, shift supervisors for any unusual defects or electrical issues. Ensure all quality checks are completed on time "blanket checks, 15-min check". Communicating with incoming shift operator for shift handover. Ensure jobs are set up properly for incoming change overs. Check the varnish to cut edge coverage and perform muffle check on each line. Ensure viscosity on varnish units are running accordingly to standard. Qualifications Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity Ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks for long periods. Strong mechanical skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Must be reliable, punctual, and safety conscious. Strong work ethic. Excellent time management skills. Positive relationships between colleagues and management. Work Environment May involve exposure to noise, moderate temperatures, and handling of materials. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required. Ability to lift 50lbs or more. Able to perform in a high-pressure fast paced environment.
