Job Description

Information Center Representative—
Job Profile Description:
Seasonal (summer), part time customer service position responsible for assisting visitors to Chautauqua County. Our objective is to increase the visiting public's (tourists) awareness of things to do and see in the area, while answering their specific questions. This includes lodging referrals, giving directions, distributing tourism brochures, and providing event and other information to assist in the trip-planning process.
Schedule:
hours range from 12 to 24 per week from mid-June through the end of August. At least one weekend workday each week is required.
Rate of Pay:
$16.00 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
▪ Answer telephone calls from visitors and local tourism businesses ▪ engage and assist the public at the information center as they seek visitor information about things to see and do in the area ▪ maintain brochures in racks and display areas ▪ Communicate with local tourism businesses regarding brochure inventory and other important visitor information resources. ▪ Record/track the number of visitors assisted ▪ Develop an ongoing knowledge of event dates and locations, attractions, recreation, shopping and dining information in Chautauqua County ▪ Provide lodging and other types of referrals based on visitor interests. ▪
Skills and Qualifications:
