We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Hospital Outreach Advocates to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social work, crisis counseling, and/or victim advocacy. The Outreach Advocate will play a vital role in providing crisis intervention as part of a team responding to victims seeking medical care following the trauma of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. This role operates on call for two 12-hour shifts: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Staff are required to report to the designated hospital within 60 minutes of being dispatched.Responsibilities:
- Work two shifts per weekend- 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Respond immediately to calls from the Hotline operator and Emergency Department to assist victims of domestic violence (IPV) and sexual assault. Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, resource referrals, and assistance with emergency shelter placement or relocation when appropriate and available.
- Document all weekend patient interactions thoroughly in the CAP system to ensure seamless continuity of care for the Monday morning weekday team.
- Will receive non-productive pay ($6 per hour) during these hours to be on-call and ready to respond to the hospital in under one hour.
- Once called to the hospital to meet with a victim, a minimum of 3 hours of productive pay ($30 per hour) will be earned even if the case lasts less than 3 hours.
Experience:
- Experience in social work, counseling, or a related field a plus
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in working with multiple team members-
- Ability to manage data collection effectively
- Ability to respond to emergency situations
Requirements:
- High school diploma required
- Some college preferred
- Must complete initial onboarding training and annual refresher training at White Plains office Must have transportation to La Plata, MD 20646
