This is an excellent opportunity for a polished legal professional who enjoys supporting attorneys in a fast-paced litigation practice. Position Summary The Legal Secretary provides administrative and litigation support to attorneys throughout all stages of a case, from inception through resolution. Responsibilities include preparing legal documents, managing court filings, maintaining attorney calendars, tracking deadlines, and coordinating materials for hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in state and federal court procedures, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Prepare, edit, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and reports. Handle state and federal court e-filings and ensure compliance with filing requirements. Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, court dates, and scheduling. Assemble exhibits, trial binders, deposition materials, and hearing documents. Prepare and process new client and matter intake documentation. Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, and client communications. Create and update Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities. Assist with marketing materials, presentations, and attorney biographies. Provide backup support for attorneys and staff as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information.
Qualifications Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of litigation legal secretary experience. Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures and e-filing systems. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent proofreading, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple attorneys and competing deadlines effectively.
Preferred:
Experience with document management systems such as iManage. Experience supporting trial preparation, depositions, and complex litigation matters.
