The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and formatting legal documents, managing court filings, maintaining litigation calendars, coordinating client billing, and supporting discovery and trial preparation. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys managing complex caseloads. Draft, revise, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery documents, correspondence, and other legal materials. Prepare and submit electronic filings in federal and state courts. Maintain litigation calendars and track critical deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates. Assist with discovery, document production, trial preparation, exhibits, and court filings. Manage client billing, including time entry, invoice preparation, and billing adjustments. Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements and process expense reimbursements. Organize and maintain legal files, records, and document management systems. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Prior experience supporting litigation attorneys in a law firm or legal environment. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and e-filing requirements. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with legal technology and document management systems, including Adobe Acrobat, Litera Change Pro, InTapp, and 3E, preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong grammar, proofreading, and formatting abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple deadlines and priorities. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and professional judgment.
