SETTLEMENT COORDINATOR COMPENSATION
Hourly Rate:
$40.00 - $48.00 per hourJOB SUMMARY
Our client is seeking an experienced Settlement Coordinator to play a critical role in managing the settlement lifecycle for catastrophic injury and wrongful death litigation involving cancer-related exposure claims. In this position, you will work closely with attorneys, clients, and internal departments to ensure settlement matters are handled accurately and efficiently from preparation through final distribution. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced managing complex legal settlements in a fast-paced litigation environment.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the settlement process from initial preparation through final distribution.
- Draft settlement releases, distribution agreements, and all required supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with clients and opposing counsel to negotiate release terms, obtain signatures, and ensure all settlement documents are fully executed.
- Maintain accurate settlement records, monitor payment deadlines, and track the status of active settlements.
- Partner with the Accounting and Liens departments to facilitate the timely receipt and distribution of settlement funds.
- Resolve settlement-related questions and issues from clients, attorneys, and internal departments.
- Communicate regularly with clients, attorneys, and staff to provide updates throughout the settlement process.
- Prepare recurring settlement reports for firm leadership.
- Assist with additional settlement-related administrative projects and special assignments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in a legal support or legal administrative role required.
- Accounting experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the legal settlement process.
- Experience supporting catastrophic injury, wrongful death, or cancer-related litigation is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, opposing counsel, and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
