California Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a well-established and highly regarded civil litigation law firm in California, seeking an experienced Litigation Assistant to join their team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a collaborative firm known for its low turnover, long-tenured employees, and team-oriented culture. Key Responsibilities Provide litigation support to two attorneys handling active insurance defense matters. Manage attorney calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates. Calculate and calendar litigation deadlines in accordance with court rules and procedures. Prepare, file, and serve legal documents in state and federal courts. Coordinate electronic filings and maintain filing confirmations. Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit binders, witness coordination, and document organization. Draft and revise legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and other litigation documents. Maintain case files and document management systems. Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, experts, and vendors. Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation from inception through trial. Qualifications Required 5+ years of civil litigation assistant/legal secretary experience. Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, calendaring, and filing requirements. Insurance defense litigation experience. Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a busy litigation practice. Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and litigation support technology. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Trial preparation and trial support experience. Familiarity with document management systems such as Worldox. Experience using calendaring software for litigation deadline management. Paralegal certificate is a plus but not required.
