We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Department Assistant to join the Collections and Foreclosure team. The ideal candidate will excel in a professional and team-oriented environment. The role requires excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the collection foreclosure practice group's legal assistants, paralegals, and attorneys.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Open new matters using Matter Expert and LawBase. Monitor shared mailboxes and handle a variety of administrative tasks. Maintain and update case files in LawBase, ensuring all information is accurate and current. Assist with answering and routing calls to appropriate team members. Work in accounting software and track related documentation. Order title commitments. Close matters in compliance with the department's standard operating procedure and all applicable Firm regulations. Assist with incoming and outgoing mail. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with iManage, File Site, and Aderant, preferred.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma required, Associate's degree preferred. At least two years of relevant experience in a corporate legal department or law firm is preferred.
