Job Description

Mintzer Sarowitz Zeris & Willis is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Legal Secretary for our growing Miami, Florida practice. Candidates must be highly motivated with no less than five (5) years' experience in Florida Civil Litigation and Trial practice . The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently and reliably with a busy caseload. You'll work with friendly, collegial attorneys and staff in a family environment. This position is 100% onsite.
Legal Secretary Responsibilities:
E-filing/e-courtesy in both State and Federal Courts. Supporting a minimum of two attorneys Preparing cases for trial (compiling exhibits, complying with trial orders, etc.) Reviewing documents for time-sensitive information. Calendaring and maintaining an electronic tickler system. Managing deadlines, profiling documents, and file maintenance/organization. Scheduling client meetings, depositions, hearings, CMEs, and mediations. Billing attorney's time.
Legal Secretary Qualification:
High School Diploma/GED or higher education. Minimum 4 years of third-party insurance defense experience. Minimum 4 years trial experience/FL civil litigation experience. Knowledge of PracticeMaster and NetDocuments is a plus Microsoft Office, Outlook Calendaring, and ECF Filing (State with Federal a plus) Experience working with carrier guidelines and carrier reporting/vendor requirements. Must be able to work in a high-volume caseload atmosphere. Must have excellent oral and communication skills. Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment Excellent organizational skills, critical thinking skills, and ability to multi-task.
