Dixie Highway, WPB 36284 Highly responsible secretarial and administrative work in the office of the County Attorney - Litigation. Performs a wide range of secretarial, clerical, and administrative duties. Work requires familiarity with legal terminology, format, forms, Florida civil procedure, and court rules. Assists one or more Attorneys in drafting, proofreading, and dispatching letters and other documents. Assists in preparing and filing court documents and legal instruments and prepares documents for Attorneys' signature. Maintains Attorneys' appointment calendars, tracks deadlines, and organizes and maintains electronic case files within a comprehensive case management system. Coordinates scheduling, including depositions, hearings, and meetings. Assembles information for Attorneys' use. May gather information through research of court documents, records, hearings, and minutes of meetings. Performs related work as required. Operates computer, MS Word software, Outlook, scanner, printer, copier, telephone, and calculator. Must have a diligent work ethic, good interpersonal skills, and be a team player.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three (3) years of legal secretary experience, which includes two (2) years in litigation for the litigation section.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Experience working as a Secretary for senior management, executive personnel, or a law office firm, Experience scheduling meetings, Experience using Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/Power Point, and Legal experience.
