Job Description

Job Title:

Legal Secretary or Paralegal

•Defense/Civil Litigation This is a Direct Hire opportunity with an annual salary range of $50,000

•$60,000 based on experience.

Location:

Grosse Pointe, Michigan

On-Site Hours :

40 hour work week

Position Summary:

The Legal Assistant or Paralegal supports attorneys throughout all stages of civil/defense litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience 1+ years of recent litigation law. In addition, we are looking for those highly organized who ensure the smooth and efficient management of a heavy caseload. As we continue to expand and grow our team we are open to candidates who have Legal Secretary or Paralegal experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, revise, and format a wide range of legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, briefs, subpoenas, correspondence and summaries. Review and summarize medical records, employment records and other evidence. Coordinate depositions, independent medical examinations, experts, insurance adjusters and opposing counsel. Manage all aspects of federal and state court filings, including mandatory e-filing in multiple Michigan jurisdictions. Maintain complex attorney calendars, tracking all deadlines utilizing practice management software. Assist with all phases of trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing trail notebooks, and coordinating witness schedules. Prioritize daily workload for multiple attorney's, entering attorney time and managing multiple assignments while adhering to strict deadlines.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree/Paralegal Certification a plus 1+ years of experience in defense litigation

Pay:

$50,000.00

•$60,000.00 per year
