This is a temporary, paid internship and is not a benefit-eligible position. Duration of this internship is flexible during the summer of 2026. Responsibilities- What youGÇÖll do Work alongside experienced environmental attorneys and colleagues to serve the citizens and communities of Missouri Engage in legal research and writing, analysis, memo drafting, and problem solving for practical client counseling on topics including on policy, statutory interpretation and application, and regulation Assist in the review, analysis, organization, and updating of General Counsel Office legal opinions for maximum efficacy Assist the General CounselGÇÖs Office in the evaluation of administrative cases, compliance and enforcement, legal and case strategy, and as available, accompany to site visitsQualifications•All you need for success To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:

AND; Must be a currently enrolled 2L (rising 3L) law student in an ABA accredited law school Knowledge of how to research and interpret legal cases, laws, and statutes in order to complete legal memorandums and other legal drafting to respond to legal questions posed by department team members Must have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in environmental and/or natural resource, or government or administration law Must have strong academic standing Must be able to work on-site in Jefferson City, MO Required application materials: Current resume including any relevant internships, project work, professional associations, student organizations, and/or course work pertaining to environmental, natural resource, government, or public administration law Cover letter Current transcript Short writing sample, no more than 10 pages.
