General responsibilities include:
Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals Prepare, format, proofread, and edit correspondence, pleadings, legal documents, and other materials Manage attorney calendars, appointments, deadlines, and meetings Assist with filing, e-filing, document organization, and case-related administrative tasks Maintain accurate electronic and paper files Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, insurance companies, and other parties Answer and direct phone calls and respond to routine client inquiries Assist with intake of new clients and opening new matters Prepare and organize documents for meetings, hearings, depositions, and trials Maintain confidentiality of client and firm information Help oversee the daily administrative operations of the office Order and maintain office supplies and equipment Assist with incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and general office organization Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed
Requirements:
High School diploma; 5 or more years prior experience as a legal secretary, legal assistant, or similar law-office position, personal injury experience preferred Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional and courteous demeanor Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications Experience with legal case-management software is preferred Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Ability to work quickly and efficiently Fast and accurate typing skills Ability to operate basic office equipment such as copiers and scanners Attention to detail
Reliable Work Hours/Schedule:
• 8:30 AM - 5 PM (37.5 hour work week), • Monday - Friday with possibility of some overtime and weekend work for trial preparation, for which there is over-time compensation.
